Are the Voilá hotels part of Matiz Collection?
Yes. Voilá Centro Histórico, Voilá Getsemaní and Voilá Pedregal are part of Matiz Collection Boutique Hotels — the same hotels and the same team, now under the Matiz Collection family. Bookings, concierge and contact details stay the same.
What is Matiz Collection?
Matiz Collection is a small group of boutique hotels in restored colonial and republican mansions in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia: Voilá Centro Histórico in the Walled City, and Voilá Getsemaní and Voilá Pedregal in the Getsemaní neighborhood. Each hotel has its own character — its own matiz.
Where are the Matiz hotels located?
All three are inside Cartagena’s historic center. Voilá Centro Histórico is at Calle de las Carretas #34-85, 80 meters from the Clock Tower. Voilá Getsemaní is at Calle de la Media Luna #9-30, and Voilá Pedregal at Avenida Pedregal, Cra. 11 #29-31, both in Getsemaní and within walking distance of the Walled City.
Should I stay in the Walled City or in Getsemaní?
Choose the Walled City (Voilá Centro Histórico) to be steps from the plazas, museums and colonial streets. Choose Getsemaní (Voilá Getsemaní or Voilá Pedregal) for a more local, artistic atmosphere with street art, small plazas and nightlife — the Walled City is a short walk away.
How do I get the best rate?
Book directly on matizhotels.com or through our reservations team on WhatsApp at +57 324 428 1675. Direct bookings carry our best-rate guarantee, seasonal codes of up to 40% (subject to availability), early-booking discounts for stays reserved 30, 60 or 90 days ahead, and complimentary concierge planning.
Is the concierge service free?
Yes. Every guest has complimentary access to our concierge before and during the stay — for restaurant reservations, private boats to the Rosario Islands, walking tours, airport transfers, celebrations and anything else you need. Write on WhatsApp to +57 313 506 1763.
How far are the hotels from the airport?
Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG) is about 8 to 12 km away — usually a 20 to 35 minute drive depending on traffic. Our concierge can arrange a private transfer; taxis and ride-hailing apps are also available.
What are the check-in and check-out times at Voilá Centro Histórico?
Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out are offered on request, subject to availability.
Is breakfast included at Voilá Centro Histórico?
Yes. A buffet breakfast is included every day, along with free Wi-Fi, air conditioning in every room and access to the rooftop pool.
Which rooms at Voilá Centro Histórico have a balcony?
The Superior Queen and the Superior Double Queen have private balconies over the cobblestone streets of the Walled City. The Design King has a small balcony over the inner garden.
Do you have rooms for families or groups?
Yes. At Voilá Centro Histórico, the Grand King takes up to three guests with an extra bed and the Superior Double Queen up to four. Voilá Getsemaní has Superior Twin rooms and can be booked whole for up to thirty guests. At Voilá Pedregal, the Junior Suite and Royal Suite have separate living areas.
Do the hotels have a pool?
All three do. Voilá Centro Histórico has a rooftop pool with views over the Walled City. Voilá Getsemaní is built around a pool courtyard. Voilá Pedregal has a Moorish-style courtyard pool, a rooftop deck and a jacuzzi.
Is Voilá Centro Histórico pet-friendly?
Yes. Small pets are welcome for an additional fee. Please tell us about your pet when you book so we can prepare for your arrival.
Is there parking at Voilá Centro Histórico?
There is no on-site parking, as is usual inside the Walled City. The nearest public car park, Parque de la Marina, is about 400 meters away. We recommend arriving by taxi or private transfer.
Can I host a wedding or private event at Matiz?
Yes. The rooftop at Voilá Centro Histórico, on the sixth and seventh floors, has 360° views for receptions and celebrations, and Voilá Getsemaní can be reserved whole for up to thirty guests. Tell us about your plans through our events form or on WhatsApp at +57 313 506 1763.
Do the teams speak English?
Yes. Our reservations and concierge teams work in English and Spanish, and the team at Voilá Centro Histórico is fully bilingual.
When is the best time to visit Cartagena?
The dry season, from December to April, brings the most sunshine and the highest demand. For calmer streets and better rates, consider May–June or September–November. Book 30, 60 or 90 days ahead for our early-booking discount.
